short game
In the documentary of the Film Short Game was about young golfers ages 7 though 8 year old playing the game of golf. During the course of the film the parents were starting to act like coaches instead of being their parent. They got so caught up with golf they ended up not being like kids or having a social life. That they were married to the sport. All they did was train and train and trying to get better and better. They started to make it more of job then a fun game. It was only about being the best and winning as much as they could. They would start getting very upset and not being able to accept if they lost a game. Every hole they were on they were determined to get a good shot. The pressure of being a kid and a golfer was a hard thing for them to face. How if they played a bad game the parents would get angry. Also not remembering that they are only 7 years old that they wont be the best golfer at 7. How much they get into it to the point where they end up becoming competitive kids. Parents cant control themselves when their children looses. But to see how they will end up as adults in life. How this game will effect the rest of their lives. They think their lives need to be about winning.
My opinion about the film is parents need to encourage their kid and be positive weather they win or loose Also to really know if they like playing the game or that they were forced to. Showing how much of a job it becomes while playing golf. They don't learn how to be social and they have to be adults before they are kids. Maturing very fast and having not make any mistakes or they are punished. They play bad one day and they have to go out and practice before they do anything. Parents need to see that they need to have fun while playing. To not make it a job.
Logos: young kids playing the sport of golf at such a young age
Ethos: Do they really like that they do it?
Pathos: The game is more of a job instead of a fun game
