In the first  season of Norton girls Lacrosse, the players had their  ups and downs.  As a team, they put in 100 percent during practice and especially games. They  focused on improving as team by having game after game. Facing many  tough teams that at times they could've  kept up with them  and other times it was a struggle just to keep up . ''From never playing lacrosse, it was impressive to watch the team grow in their lacrosse abilities''

They  had some great moments that also got close to a win   but never got one. All the players  put 100 percent every chance  they got to play the game. Also As they worked on their skills on and off the field. They continued as a team  to fight hard as they could till the game was over. Sweating and smelly shoes to blisters on their feet, the players  went out on that field and put everything on the line. The girls did not win an official game they improved more and more.. Coach   Mary Pasquantonio had some  tough moments trying to get us to always be on our A game.''The players responded to my coaching, and we were able to have some close games that were a lot of fun to watch. I am looking forward to working with most of the players next year''

The girls   had one specific game where they played Medfield”s Junior Varsity team and they were able to keep up with them and the girls started to play better then them.  They out did us that day but that made the girls   team up and  think about what we have to do differently so that they bring home a win. The girls performance was enough to show that they did their best at practice and during games. The team spirit on the game made the girls want to work hard and but as much effort as they could. Norton left that game upset but knew what they had to do if they wanted to perform better then  Fight for the draw and ground balls. To realized  with more practice they would win.  Improving is the one thing that stuck out in every girl during the season. Just because they weren't the best the skill level and their performance as points were better than other teams they played. To start, the entire team improved their skills.

Another well played game by Norton girls had  was against  the game was a team  Metro. The girls played them earlier in the season and they struggle with their performance against the team. They were playing like it was their first year. Everyone including the coach had the  intention that they girls were bringing home a win. Scoring a lot of goals for the Lancer girls.Ran the ball to score   They kept fighting. The Lancers won  draws. The Lancers had a good opportunity to get a win against them.

The second to last game at home in Norton.. Norton girls lacrosse team played Martha's Vineyard. Knowing they were good scared the girls but made them put this and their effort to get one win on the season. The game with the score being 5 to 0 in the first half . Struggling to get a goal and keep the ball moving was hard. Sticks flying everywhere you turned. Their coach yelling on the  side lines. Martha's Vineyard won 21 to 0 the final score.   Martha's Vineyard girls  played dirty and were sloppy with their skills. Showing that the Lancers were better.  Hearing them swear at the girls and not getting called for it was impressive. Sweating down the field to catch them was what the girls were doing that game. The result of that game was the Lancers lost that game.

Overall throughout the season the girls never had a dull moment. They kept fighting and working hard on and off the field. Keeping a positive outlook on every game they  played that they ended up loosing. They still kept their heads up high and going to improve next season to get a lot of wins. As a team of girls not knowing how to play showed that it's possible to go out there and perform and have skills .Being proud of everything they did on the team is what they want  are going to remember. ''There is always something you can be working on to improve. I think, as a team, your best qualities were your enthusiasm and work ethic. Those are two qualities that cannot be coached, so it was impressive to have in our inaugural season''

                                Summary  on Marian Jones Career

As she shows her journey to everyone. How Marian Jones once was so successful and made her dreams come true from dreaming about it since the age of nine. Why would anyone want to give such a great accomplishment up. No one would. But Marian was faced with a awful choice she made during the games that would change her life forever. She was pressured to take a drug that effects the way you perform. She was performing better than she ever did. Everyone questioned how she was doing this? How was this possible to do? Soon after she was taking the drug people and sources were questioning if a drug was coming into play to make her the best. She was talked if she ever took drugs before. She denied it and said that she would never take drugs and is not going to start. 2007 came along and the facts and rumors were going around that she was going drugs to become the best. She finally made a statement outside the courthouse saying that she did take drugs and she was guilty of lying to FBI agency  and lying to her fans about taking the drugs. She was sentenced to jail for about 6 and a half months for this. How being at the top one minute and going to jail for making a bad choice because you wanted to win. She was breaking the rules and no one knew for  so long because they didn't believe it and they never thought for a minute she would. The person who gave  this to her forced and put it upon her to do it. Pressuring her was a big role that she couldn't control during the whole case against her for taking drugs. The regret she had after she told everyone outside that courthouse that she lied as the tears were running down her face.Struggling in prison to get by day by day waiting for the day she would be released. Coming back from her struggle she was able to recover. To get from the experience to have a new outlook on life. To learn from the mistake she made.

interview with my coach

1. Who do you think was the most improved player on the team?
To start, the entire team improved their skills. From never playing lacrosse, it was impressive to watch the team grow in their lacrosse abilities. Everyone gained better stick skills, and learned about the rules and movements of the game. In my opinion, there were two players who stood out the most for improving not only their lacrosse skills, but their maturity, competitive edge, and positivity. These girls are Michaela Sullivan and Caitlin Landry. They had a turning point in the season where I relied on them to get the ball and take control.

2. In your opinion how do you think our season went?
Our season was not measured by the number of wins, ties, or losses. It was a foundation year that was meant to introduce the new sport to the athletes and instill a love for the game. Because this was my goal, I believe we had a very successful team. Everyone put their heart and soul into every game, and were so excited when we did well. The players responded to my coaching, and we were able to have some close games that were a lot of fun to watch. I am looking forward to working with most of the players next year.

3. Do you think we put in enough effort to try to win a game this season?
Overall, every player put in the effort that was needed to win a game; however, it takes more than just effort to win a game. The important thing was that we did not lose our team moral when we lost, and we always gave our best on the field. As we grow individually and as a team, we will learn the other factors that it takes to win games.

4. Do you think we should work on something more or remove something that we do on the team?
There is always something you can be working on to improve. I think, as a team, your best qualities were your enthusiasm and work ethic. Those are two qualities that cannot be coached, so it was impressive to have in our inaugural season. To improve, all players should work on their stick skills and conditioning. These two aspects make you a better lacrosse player.
5. Do you think we can get a win next season? and how will we be able to next season?
We will be more competitive next season and I believe we will have more than 1 win! We will have a similar schedule, so I believe that we will win the close games that we were unable to finish this year (Bellingham 9-5, Metro 6-5, and Medfield JV 9-9). I am planning on creating two leveled teams: Varsity and JV. Players who work during the offseason and show improvements in stick work and conditioning will be rewarded with their efforts and put onto varsity. Those players who still need fundamental development will be placed on JV. I am doing this so that players will have the ability to get more playing time, as well as playing teams that are similar in skill level to them. At practice, we will work with our teams creating plays and working on ball movement and field awareness.

final draft

Our First ever  season of Norton girls Lacrosse had our ups and downs but as a team we put in 100 percent during practice and especially games. We focused a lot on improving as team by having game after game. Facing a lot of tough teams that at times we could keep up with and other times it was a struggle to get through. We had some great moments that also turned into wins but ever got to that point. Every player has improved so much since the beginning of the season to now. We all put 100 percent every chance we got to play the game. Also as we worked on our skills at practice and our mistakes that we made the last game. To continue to fight and work as hard as we could till the game was over. Sweating and smelly shoes to blisters on your feet you went out on that field and put everything on the line.In my eyes being a team member the score of every game doesn't reflect on how well we did. The score shows we lost but to me we won some games and then it went downhill from their. We had some awful games that at points i started to give up and lose hope that we as a team would broke out of it. We would always break out but play well and then do horrible our next one. Mary our coach had some frustrating moments throughout our season by getting upset with us as a team and calls being made that should have been called. Throughout this season their are mean girls on teams that go over the top and then aggressive players that just wanted to run up and  score a goal and be known as the best. I don't miss getting step on or hit with the ball by my team mates as they would do it by mistake but it hurt so badly. But working hard and running as fast as you can pays off by getting goal is what i learned and more. Seeing that there are so many ways girls play the game makes you want to be known for what you do so people are some what afraid of you during the game. We had one specific game where we tied with Med field Junior Varsity team and we got a goal to beat them and we got to taken away because there was a call that didn't happen. As a team when you are on the sidelines you are freaking out butterflies in your stomach just waiting to  get that last goal with 30 seconds left in the game. And they get the ball and just let the clock run. They out did us that day but that made us as a team think about what we have to do differently so that we can win. Sooner or later we would keep trying to win but at the end of the season there are games that we won by playing better and our skill level has better. To me everyone on our team did a great job on the season and we went out there and put everything on the  line and give it our best shot. The effort we put into every game and our performance made us win.
